The Scholar will be expected to teach two courses, and will be welcome to conduct their own research or join the university’s research projects. If the research component of the award is more substantial, the Scholar will be expected to teach only one course. In the case of teaching/research grants, there is no preference for how scholars divide their time between teaching and research.

Conduct policy-oriented research that addresses topics of common importance for the US-EU relationship and/or EU affairs and that is tenable in one, two, or three EU Member States. 

One American scholar will be selected for the Fulbright-Schuman Innovation Award, designed to support research at the intersection of policy and technology that can improve the transatlantic understanding of issues at the heart of the US-EU relationship.

The scholar selected for this grant is expected to conduct cutting-edge STEM research preferably at one of Hungary’s high priority research facilities or universities (see preferred locations below). Scholars in the arts whose projects are related to natural sciences, mathematics and engineering are also encouraged to apply as STEAM is a new concept in Hungary.
