Conduct policy-oriented research that addresses topics of common importance for the US-EU relationship and/or EU affairs and that is tenable in one, two, or three EU Member States. 

One American scholar will be selected for the Fulbright-Schuman Innovation Award, designed to support research at the intersection of policy and technology that can improve the transatlantic understanding of issues at the heart of the US-EU relationship.

The award holder will teach one graduate course per semester on a topic of their choosing. The course, a research proseminar, will consist of 135-minute sessions, once a week, for 15 weeks. The Distinguished Scholar will also be expected to give public lectures, advise graduate students, and generally engage in the academic life of the ASC.

The award holder will be expected to teach one regular course for undergraduate/graduate students in one of the humanities and social sciences academic units at the Faculty of English, Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU).

Award holders will be expected to teach one regular course for undergraduate/graduate students per semester in the Department of British and American Studies or another academic unit at the Institute of Modern Languages and Literatures, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS). The Distinguished Scholar will be encouraged to give talks at UMCS humanities and social sciences units.

The award holder will be expected to teach one regular course for BA/MA “Eastern Studies” students per semester at the Center for East European Studies University of Warsaw (CEES UW) and one general university lecture per semester open to all University of Warsaw students, as well as hold consultations with students.

Teach courses and seminars at the undergraduate and graduate level, assist with curriculum development, offer seminars or workshops and/or conduct research and other activities, as requested.
