Conduct a professional project, research or do a combination of teaching and research (ideally 20% teaching and 80% research, but the ratio is flexible depending on the agreement between the Scholar and Host Institution).

Research, Teaching, Teaching/Research, and Professional Projects are welcomed. Collaborative work with local scholars is desirable. The teaching to research ratio for the combination (teaching/research) award should be 50:50, though this can be adjusted depending on the host institution preferences/needs.

Vanessa Mari
In her current position as an Assistant Professor of TESOL, Vanessa prepares pre-service teachers to work with emergent bilingual students. Her research is centered on describing the language practices of emergent bilingual students and working with teachers on how to leverage bilingualism in the classroom.
