In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the alliance between the United States of America and the Republic of Korea, Presidents Biden and Yoon announced in April 2023 the establishment of a new educational exchange initiative amounting to $60 million, funded jointly, that aims to serve 2,023 Koreans and 2,023 Americans.

Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities

Research, Teaching/Research, and Professional Project awards of three to 10 months are available. Award proposals must demonstrate a particular focus on Korea or be comparative in nature.

Distinguished Scholar at Yonsei University

Established in April 2003, and reinstated in May 2017, the Distinguished Scholar Award at Yonsei University aims to enhance relations between the peoples of the Republic of Korea and the United States of America, to promote internationalization of Korean higher education, and to increase cooperation for the improvement of education and research at Korean universities.
