Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in applicant’s area of specialization. Teaching scholars should teach regular courses as well as conduct seminars or workshops, consult on curriculum, assist with program and faculty development and help develop innovative pedagogies. The teaching load is between two to four graduate or undergraduate courses per semester.

All Disciplines (Research)

Conduct research in applicant’s area of specialization. Research scholars should conduct research in their area of expertise. Projects may focus on contemporary Indonesia or be comparative in nature. In addition to research, scholars may be asked to give public talks, advise students, train Indonesian research team members, and engage with the academic community.

ASEAN Research Program

Conduct collaborative research in an area of specialization on an issue of priority to ASEAN or to the U.S.-ASEAN relationship in 2-3 ASEAN countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.
