Dr. Norbert J. Delatte, Jr. is a professor at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Oklahoma State University, focusing on infrastructure and the vital role civil engineers play in public safety. As a Fulbright U.S. Scholar, Norb conducted research at the University of Naples Federico II Department of Structures for Engineering and Architecture, working on forensic engineering—investigating how structures fail—to improve structural safety. He taught a doctoral-level course in nondestructive evaluation of infrastructure and guest lecturer in the master's Program in Forensic Engineering, as well as at the Universities of Parma, Palermo, and Florence. His work contributed to forensic engineering and education that makes America and Italy safer and has led him to explore options for student and faculty exchanges and collaboration between Oklahoma State and the University of Naples Federico II, as well as the other universities he visited.
