Jo Ann R. Regan

Dr. Jo Ann R. Regan is Dean of the National Catholic School of Social Service at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. As a Fulbright U.S. Scholar to the Czech Republic, she conducted comparative research on social work competencies and accreditation, collaborating with faculty at Palacký University in Olomouc and engaging educators and government officials across Central Europe. Her work examined the ways competency-based education and quality assurance shape social work preparation across national contexts. Jo Ann continues to partner with Czech universities, supporting faculty and student exchanges and strengthening institutional ties. She also established an International Summer Institute at her university’s Rome Campus, bringing together students and scholars from partner institutions in the Czech Republic, the United States, Italy, Peru, India, and Korea. Through these initiatives, she prepares future social workers to address global challenges through collaborative, culturally informed education, practice, and research.
