Cayla Rosché
Dr. Cayla Rosché is on faculty at Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. As a Fulbright Scholar in Reykjavík, she taught phonetics and continued her research on Icelandic art song at Iceland University of the Arts, culminating in a full recital of this repertory. She is a former American-Scandinavian Foundation fellowship recipient, and has presented her research at the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study Conference, the Sam Houston Art Song Festival, and the Arctic Circle Conference. Cayla’s doctoral project at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, supported by the Foreign Language Area Studies grant, included one of the first guides to Icelandic Singing Diction.
Cayla has continued her collaboration through the connections she made in Iceland, including working with a student who is conducting a research project based on her area of Fulbright research. She is also advising students at her home academic institution who are interested in researching Icelandic music. Since returning home, she has shared her research in master classes, journal articles, and presentations to her campus community, and many of her students have performed Icelandic music in their recitals.
