Dr. Scott M. Waring is a scholar of American history and a Professor of Social Science Education and the Associate Director for Internationalization and Research in the School of Teacher Education at the University of Central Florida (UCF). He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in social science methodology, research, and theory, using primary sources such as letters from John Adams to teach history. He was a Fulbright U.S. Scholar at Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, led a Fulbright-Hays program, and was a Fulbright Specialist in Bulgaria. These experiences provided him with extensive international engagement opportunities, including collaborative research and publishing, teaching at ten institutions abroad, and developing partnerships that benefit students and scholars. He has also hosted a Fulbright Scholar in Residence and three Fulbright Outreach Lecturing Fund Scholars at UCF, while supporting Fulbright Scholars and English Teaching Assistants. His work strengthens international collaboration that benefits both international partners and the United States.
