Awardees interested in Teaching/Research category are strongly recommended to discuss the time allotment of proposed activities with the host institution. They are expected to teach at least one course in addition to their research activities.

Conduct policy-oriented research that addresses topics of common importance for the US-EU relationship and/or EU affairs and that is tenable in one, two, or three EU Member States.

One American scholar will be selected for the Fulbright-Schuman Innovation Award, designed to support research at the intersection of policy and technology that can improve the transatlantic understanding of issues at the heart of the US-EU relationship.

The aim of the award is to allow different categories of scholars - scientists, researchers and lecturers, to come to Slovakia to conduct research and/or teach. In addition to traditional research or lecturing, professional projects are welcome as well.
There are 4 categories of award: Teaching award, Research award, combined Teaching/Research award, and Professional project award.
