Strategic Impact of Merger and Acquisition Activity
Countries

During his Fulbright, David taught and conducted research at Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) in Austria. He taught undergraduate strategic management, and master level courses on mergers and acquisitions (M&A). He also collaborated on multiple research projects, including a co-authored book published by Routledge summarizing research on M&A. Currently, he is the Higdon Professor of Management in the College of Business at Florida State University where he teaches strategic management at the undergraduate and graduate level, and cross-cultural management to undergraduates. His research focuses on better understanding merger and acquisition activity that has an annual value exceeding the GDP of all countries except for the United States and China.

David’s Fulbright experience had a profound impact on him personally that also benefited his host and home institutions. For the host institution, he was able to fill a faculty vacancy to teach courses. As part of teaching, he was also able to advise master student thesis research. For his home institution, David broadened my international contacts and experience. His Fulbright experiences contributed to his teaching a course on cross-cultural management at his home institution. For both his host and home institution, David also collaborated on research resulting in a co-authored book.
